Physicians' Education ResourceĀ® to Host 5th Annual Miami Lung Cancer ConferenceĀ®

This one-day educational event highlights the recent developments in lung cancer research

CRANBURY, N.J.-- Physicians’ Education Resource® (PER®), the leading resource for oncology and hematology continuing medical education (CME), will present the 5th Annual Miami Lung Cancer Conference® on March 10 at the Diplomat Beach Resort in Hollywood, Florida, said Phil Talamo, president of PER®.

“We are excited to share the most recent clinical and scientific data to propel research for lung cancer treatment,” said Talamo. “This year’s meeting incorporates pressing issues that tackle multiple challenges faced by oncologists, nurses and patients. The program will be co-chaired by renowned oncologists, Heather A, Wakelee, M.D., professor of medicine (oncology), Stanford University Medical Center, and Julie Brahmer, M.D., interim director, Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center, associate professor of oncology, Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center.

This fast-paced educational event will focus on some of the most pressing issues in the lung cancer arena. The expert faculty at the event will share insights on the cutting-edge research on angiogenesis inhibition in lung cancer and use of these therapies to offer personalized patient care, latest therapies in EGFR-positive non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC), latest data on the benefits on immunotherapy, and use of ALK inhibitor selection across lines of therapy in NSCLC. This year, we will feature the Annual Multidisciplinary Symposium on Head and Neck Cancer, which will discuss the recent advances in treating HNC with novel agents. This session will help busy oncologists interpret and apply the latest data to advance the care of their patients.

The faculty for the 5th Annual Miami Lung Cancer Conference® comprises 11 hematology and oncology leaders from renowned institutions including Yale Cancer Center, Mass General Hospital Cancer Center, Stanford University Medical Center and Mount Sinai Medical Center.
