Physicians' Education Resource® Will Host the 12th Annual New York Lung Cancer Symposium®

CRANBURY, N.J.--Physicians’ Education Resource® (PER®), the leading resource for oncology and hematology continuing medical education (CME), will host the 12th Annual New York Lung Cancer Symposium® on Nov. 11 at the New York Marriott Marquis in New York, announced Phil Talamo, president of PER®.In making the announcement Talamo said, “Lung cancer affects over 150,000 people in the United States and despite intensive research efforts, the survival rates for lung cancer remains low. This symposium offers a platform for the dissemination of the latest research findings for better patient outcomes.”

The program will be co-chaired by renowned oncologists, Mark G. Kris, MD, attending physician, Thoracic Oncology Service, William and Joy Ruane Chair in Thoracic Oncology, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York; and Roman Perez-Soler, MD, chairman, Department of Oncology, Montefiore Medical Center, professor of medicine and molecular pharmacology, deputy cancer center director, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York.

The one-day educational event has a fast-paced agenda with leading lung cancer experts and features many case discussions. Some of the topics include oncogene-driven lung cancers, emerging applications for angiogenesis inhibitions and new approaches in immunotherapy. The highly sought-after faculty will offer resourceful insight on the latest therapies and emerging treatment options. Attendees will receive an opportunity to gain knowledge about many different subtypes of this disease, to improve their patients’ lives.

The faculty for the 12th Annual New York Lung Cancer Symposium® comprises of 20 oncology and hematology experts from some of the top cancer centers in the country including Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Harvard Medical School, Yale Comprehensive Cancer Center and Weill Cornell Medical College.
