Physicians’ Education Resource® Hosts Conference That Explores Integrating New Therapies
 
Plainsboro, N.J. — March 10, 2014 — Physicians’ Education Resource® (PER®), the go-to source for excellence in continuing medical education, will host the 7th Annual Interdisciplinary Prostate Cancer Congress™ on March 15 at the Crowne Plaza^® Times Square in New York City.
 
The 7th Annual Interdisciplinary Prostate Cancer Congress™ is a daylong meeting that will educate health care professionals on advances in the treatment of patients with prostate cancer. This program is designed to integrate the latest clinical trial data with emerging strategies in order to maximize patient outcomes.
 
The Congress will be chaired by Leonard G. Gomella, M.D., F.A.C.S.; Daniel P. Petrylak, M.D.; and A. Oliver Sartor, M.D. Dr. Gomella is the Bernard W. Godwin Jr. Professor of Prostate Cancer, chairman of the department of urology, and associate director of the Jefferson Kimmel Cancer Center at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Dr. Petrylak is professor of medicine and medical oncology, director of prostate and GU medical oncology, and director of the prostate cancer translational research program at Yale Cancer Center. Dr. Sartor is the Laborde Professor of Cancer Research at Tulane University School of Medicine.
 
This one-day CME meeting brings together top experts from key specialties involved in the care of patients with prostate cancer to discuss state-of-the-art treatments and current guidelines, debate controversies and challenging case scenarios, and review recent trial data and emerging therapeutic approaches with the potential to impact clinical practice.
 
“Today, the interdisciplinary care of prostate cancer has become a reality, and urologists along with radiation, surgical, and medical oncologists are all involved in the management of these patients. In order to provide optimal care, it is essential that all members of the treatment team stay up-to-date on current trends and emerging data, not just in their own area, but also in the related specialties,” said Dr. Petrylak.
 
This educational congress is directed at medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgeons, and urologists involved in the treatment and management of patients with prostate cancer. Fellows, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, and other health care professionals interested in the treatment of patients with prostate cancer are also invited to attend.
