19th Annual International Congress on Hematologic Malignancies®: Focus on Leukemias, Lymphomas and Myeloma

Physicians' Education Resource®, LLC (PER®) appoints new chairs and announces new location

Plainsboro, NJ, May 13, 2014—Physicians’ Education Resource®, LLC (PER®), the go-to source for excellence in continuing medical education, will host the 19th Annual International Congress on Hematologic Malignancies — Focus on Leukemias, Lymphomas and Myeloma® in 2015 on Friday, February 20, and Saturday, February 21, at the InterContinental Miami in Miami, Florida.

The 19th Annual International Congress on Hematologic Malignancies® is a 2-day meeting that will educate medical oncologists, hematologists, and other health care professionals on the continually evolving standards of care in hematologic malignancies.

This year's congress will be chaired by Myron S. Czuczman, MD, Professor of Oncology, Chief, Lymphoma/Myeloma Service, Department of Medicine, Head, Lymphoma Translational Research Laboratory, Department of Immunology, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo, NY, and Andre Goy, MD, MS, Chairman and Director, Chief of Lymphoma, Director, Clinical and Translational Cancer Research, John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center, Hackensack, NJ.

Drs. Czuczman and Goy and other thought leaders will deliver presentations and cases that will focus on patient scenarios health care providers often encounter in their practice. These experts will distill the data and pinpoint relevant and critical information that will be actionable for healthcare providers and ultimately patients affected by the various subtypes of hematologic malignancies.

This educational congress is directed toward medical oncologists and hematologists interested in the treatment of patients with hematologic malignancies. Fellows, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, researchers, and other health care professionals interested in the treatment of hematologic malignancies are also invited to attend.

"Dr. Goy and I are extremely excited to be heading up the next chapter of this important meeting, featuring a new location, a new format, and a greater focus on the challenges that physicians who care for patients with hematologic malignancies face in their everyday practice,” said Dr. Czuczman. “Participants will leave with practical, relevant information that they can apply Monday in the clinic. Please join us; no other activity will give you the same level of interaction, engagement, and relevant information."

Phil Talamo, PER®'s Vice President, Independent Medical Education & Operations, stated: "PER® is proud to host this meeting that will help continue the education of physicians in the field of hematologic malignancies. We are thrilled to have 2 new chairs lead this conference, in a new location, to help bring the Winter Hematology® meeting into the future. We know that this relevant, case-based information will benefit physicians in their day-to-day practice when they return to their offices on Monday."
