Dr. Gregory Stock and breast cancer survivor Stephanie Seban will give keynote speeches at the conference

CRANBURY, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Physicians’ Education Resource® (PER®), a leading resource for continuing medical education (CME), announces Dr. Gregory Stock and Stephanie Seban as the keynote speakers for the 36th annual Miami Breast Cancer Conference®. This year’s keynote presentations will take place at the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach, Florida.

Gregory Stock, Ph.D., MBA, a biotech entrepreneur, bioethicist, best-selling author and public communicator, is a leading authority on the broad impacts of genomic and other advanced technologies in the life sciences. He serves as the co-director of the Harris Center for Precision Wellness Center at the Institute for Next Generation Healthcare and a research professor in the department of genetics and genomic sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. In 1977, he founded the influential Program on Medicine, Technology and Society at David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles, and served as its director for 10 years. In 2003, he co-founded Signum Biosciences, a Princeton University spinoff created to develop a new class of anti-inflammatory signal-transduction molecules to combat neurodegeneration, where he served as chief executive (CEO) for seven years. In 2010, he co-founded Ecoeos, a personalized-health company that developed the first genetic test for susceptibility to mercury toxicity. Stock served as CEO and chief strategy officer of Ecoeos until 2014. Stock will present his scientific keynote speech on Saturday, March 9 at 11:10 a.m.

Stephanie Seban is an eight-year metastatic breast cancer (MBC) thriver, blogger and wellness advocate. Despite a misdiagnosis and her ongoing journey with MBC, she finds joy and purpose in inspiring others by sharing her experiences and has become involved in multiple philanthropic works and projects. Seban has made it her life’s mission and purpose to advocate for other young women by providing hope and thriving by example. She is currently co-authoring a book, “The Thrivers Guide,” that will share her knowledge and experiences living with MBC. Seban will present her patient keynote speech on Saturday, March 9 at 11:55 a.m.

For 36 years, the Miami Breast Cancer Conference® has brought together surgical, medical and radiation oncologists, as well as geneticists, pathologists, radiologists and supportive-care specialists, to foster awareness of state-of-the-art treatments for all stages and subtypes of breast cancer, provide expert perspectives on areas of clinical uncertainty or controversy, and encourage attendees to engage in cross-team cooperation in their clinics. The four-day interactive conference will explore all aspects of treatment and management of breast cancer, including screening, molecular and genetic testing, detection, primary treatments and patient-support strategies. The conference will also feature a special patient communication workshop, specialized programming on issues related to young women with breast cancer and a discussion about physician burnout.
