PLAINSBORO, N.J. This one-day educational and scientific meeting will focus on key clinical topics in the management of ovarian cancer as well as endometrial, uterine, and cervical malignancies.

The course directors for this interactive forum are James Tate Thigpen, MD, Director of the Division of Medical Oncology at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine; Maurie Markman, MD, Senior Vice President of Clinical Affairs and National Director of Medical Oncology for Cancer Treatment Centers of America; and Michael J. Birrer, MD, PhD, Director of Gynecologic Medical Oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Drs. Thigpen, Markman, and Birrer, along with a distinguished faculty of experts, will engage in a series of expert debates that will examine topics in the treatment of patients with ovarian, endometrial, cervical, and uterine carcinomas. The “pro and con” format of the debates is designed to provide attendees with practical clinical insights into treatment and present a nuanced view of the scope of current thinking on these topics.

Faculty will also discuss the role of genomic analysis in the management of patients with gynecologic cancers and highlight several promising novel chemotherapeutics and targeted agents for gynecologic malignancies currently undergoing clinical trial evaluation.

“With the current focus on individualized treatments for patients with gynecologic cancers and a robust pipeline of emerging therapies, it is imperative that oncology professionals stay current with the latest thinking and research,” said Deborah Augustus, Vice President, Independent Medical Education of PER®. “We are proud to provide oncologists with the opportunity to interact with and learn from our distinguished faculty and acquire knowledge that can help them to improve patient outcomes.”
