Show Me Your Care Plan! Nursing Strategies to Individualize Care for Patients With MPNs in the Context of Recent Evidence
Release Date: August 20, 2021
Expiration Date: August 20, 2022
Activity Overview
The management of myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) like polycythemia vera (PV) and myelofibrosis (MF) has evolved substantially in recent years to incorporate novel treatment options that can improve patient symptomatology, quality of life, and risk of life-threatening complications. Optimal management of these MPNs depends on the careful coordination of multidisciplinary teams for diagnosis and treatment planning. Nurses serve a core function in this team, providing patient-level communication and delivery of treatments.
Show Me Your Care Plan!™ Nursing Strategies to Individualize Care for Patients with MPNs in the Context of Recent Evidence is a CE-certified online activity involving a dialogue between a practicing oncologist and an oncology nurse discussing care plans for patients with different MPNs. For each case, the physician will describe the treatment and the nurse will detail how they prioritize potential clinical challenges, personalize care, and communicate the care plan to optimize outcomes and improve satisfaction with their care.
