Activity Overview
This Community Practice Connections™ program provides an in-depth review of some of the key highlights from the 5th Annual School of Nursing OncologyTM, held in August 2021. This unique, engaging, multimedia activity is ideal for the community-based clinician and focuses on the practical aspects of managing patients with melanoma, renal cell carcinoma, or non-small cell lung cancer, putting recent clinical trial data into clinical context. The program is designed for those who did not attend the live meeting and to help reinforce learnings for those who did.

Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:
- Evaluate recently reported clinical trial data that are relevant for treatment of solid and hematologic malignancies
- Explain practice changing trial evidence relevant to the contemporary management of solid and hematologic malignancies
- Identify biomarkers and relevant assays, including genetic and genomic testing, that have predictive or prognostic value to individualize decision-making for patients with cancer
- Develop strategies to monitor for and mitigate adverse events associated with immunotherapies, targeted therapies, and other current or emerging agents in oncology
- Apply patient counseling strategies to clinical scenarios to improve treatment adherence along the disease continuum and including survivorship
- Assess evidence-based supportive care strategies for cancer- and treatment-related symptom management
- Integrate methods for multidisciplinary care coordination and patient counseling strategies to optimize shared decision-making in the care of patients with cancer, including decisions concerning clinical trial participation
